What you can reuse

The text on this site (case studies, guides and the cheat sheet) is licensed under CC BY-NC 4.0. You can copy, quote, translate and share it for non-commercial use, with credit to "Mobile Design Rounds, mobiledesignrounds.com" and a link back. If you want to use it commercially, for example in a paid course, ask me first.

The code snippets and the build scripts are under the MIT licence. Use them anywhere, and keep the licence notice if you copy a large amount.

The diagrams are under CC BY 4.0. Use them in talks, posts and docs with credit.

The name, logo and favicon are not covered by these licences. The paid pack, if it ever exists, is not covered either.

Some of the text and code was drafted with AI assistance and then edited and checked by me (see how this is checked). I license what I wrote and edited. Where a passage has no meaningful human authorship, copyright may not apply to it at all, so do not assume a licence can stop copying of a sentence or two.

Credits

Some pages are based on the Android developer documentation. Where one is, it says so at the bottom and links to the original. Android documentation text is published under a Creative Commons Attribution licence and its code samples under Apache 2.0, and those parts stay under Google's terms. The offline-first guide carries the attribution paragraph Google asks for.

Some code sketches follow patterns from the Android, Firebase and Apple documentation. Where a sketch follows an official sample closely, a comment above it names the sample.

Trademarks and independence

Android is a trademark of Google LLC. Apple, iOS, Swift and SwiftData are trademarks of Apple Inc. Kotlin is a trademark: its brand guidelines are published by the Kotlin Foundation, and JetBrains holds the copyright in its brand assets. Room, WorkManager, FCM, Firebase and Jetpack are Google products. Other product and company names belong to their owners and appear only to say what is being discussed.

This site is independent. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Google, Apple, JetBrains or any company named in a case study. No company reviewed these pages.
